MERGE4 at DeLaveaga for the BIGGR Charity Golf Tournament

On May 8th, the morning fog sat low over DeLaveaga Golf Course before giving way to one of those classic Santa Cruz sunny afternoons.

It was the inaugural charity tournament hosted by BIGGR Wealth Strategies and Insurance Solutions and benefitted City Surf Project, bringing people together for a full day of golf, community, conversation, and support for Bay Area youth surf programs.

MERGE4 was honored to be part of it.

We supplied socks for the swag bags, set up our tent at Hole #1, and spent the day watching foursomes roll through the course during the 18-hole scramble. Lunch turned into dinner. The silent auction picked up steam. Raffle tickets filled buckets. Stories got better as the round went on.

And honestly, DeLaveaga is the perfect place for a tournament like this.

The course carries its own rhythm. Tree-lined fairways. Elevation changes. Pockets of sunlight breaking through the canopy. You never really rush your way around DeLa. You move through it.

MERGE4’s own Chris Busenhart was able to tee it up and play as well, which made the event even more fun for our crew.

But beyond the golf itself, what stood out most was seeing people show up for something outside themselves.

A round of golf becomes a fundraiser. A fundraiser becomes access. Access becomes confidence, mentorship, opportunity, and community for young people who deserve all of it.

Organizations like City Surf Project are creating those opportunities every day through surfing and connection to the ocean..opening doors that can genuinely shape lives in lasting ways.

Huge thanks to everyone at BIGGR Wealth Strategies and Insurance Solutions and City Surf Project for including MERGE4 in such a great day at DeLaveaga.

Good people. Great weather. A beautiful course. And a reminder who important community is.
