MERGE4 Partners With Rick Thorne

MERGE4 is proud to announce a collaboration with Rick Thorne – the man, the myth, the legend behind Pool Seekers, a web series spanning the globe with a like-minded crew – Peacock to Hawk – to find empty pools for skating and bikes. This collaboration with Thorne flows with the MERGE4 philosophy of producing high quality socks featuring art and graphics from legends in the world of action sports, music and art.

Thorne’s resume is as deep as the pools he seeks: A professional BMX athlete who competed in 9 X Games, he’s toured the world with his BMX bike competing and doing demos for years. He toured on the Vans Warped Tour for 14 years, and starred in Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland and Mat Hoffman’s Pro BMX 1 & 2 video games. He hosted ESPN’s X2Day and Action Sports Radio which lead to Fox TVs 54321 and MTVs Sports and Music Festival.

Thorne appeared in Paul Blart: Mall Cop with Kevin James and XXX with Vin Diesel. With his band Good Guys in Black, their song Whoa Yeah was the 2011 LA Dodgers theme song for the entire season.

Rick lives by the motto “Stay Rad” which he feels is the best way to live his life. To not be afraid to try new things, to reinvent and express yourself and most importantly to keep a positive outlook on life.

The Pool Seeker graphics show a crazed skull, bloodshot eyes wide open, salivating at the thought of all the empty pools that have yet to be ridden. The art is by Bobby Brown who also has socks in the MERGE4 collection. The graphics are imprinted on a classic mid-length sock: combed cotton, terry looped wicking under foot, self-adjusting welt cuff, reinforced heel and hand linked toe, elastic arch support and awesome fitting y-heel sock that is athletic ribbed – and for scampering over fences and gates when the coast is clear – or the cops are coming.

“I’m super stoked to be part of the MERGE4 family,” Rick Thorne said. “They’re the best sock company out there in my opinion. It’s an honor to be on this awesome team, that has the raddest designs, quality and comfort a sock can offer. I’m truly grateful, my feet are happy.”

MERGE4 founder Cindi Ferreira-Busenhart said: “Rick Thorne is a perfect fit with MERGE4. I love his positive vibe, which goes along with the hidden messages we hide inside the cuff of each sock.”
