MERGE4 x Liberty Graphics: Field Guides for Your Feet
Every so often two brands line up so perfectly it feels like they were always meant to do this. That's the MERGE4 x Liberty Graphics collab, and we could not be more fired up to finally put it in your hands. Or, you know. On your feet.
If you don't know Liberty Graphics, get familiar. They've been screen-printing gorgeous, hyper-detailed nature art out of Liberty, Maine since 1977. Water-based inks, employee-owned, a whole catalog built around butterflies and birds and blueberries and mushrooms drawn like they came straight out of a naturalist's field notebook. Their whole thing is putting the wonder of the natural world on cotton the right way, without trashing the planet to do it. Sound like anybody you know?
Two Brands, One Wavelength
Here's why this one made too much sense to pass up.
MERGE4 has always been about art you actually wear. We're a Santa Cruz, woman-founded Certified B Corp building socks out of recycled and plant-based yarns, teaming up with artists so every pair carries a little meaning and a lot of comfort. Liberty Graphics has been flying that same flag out of Maine for nearly fifty years. Same love for the outdoors, same respect for the artists, same refusal to cut corners on how it's made. One coast to the other, we speak the same language.
So we did the obvious thing. We took some of their most beloved, most jaw-droppingly detailed classic designs and translated them into MERGE4 socks, printed edge to edge so nothing gets lost. Ready?
The Lineup
Milkweed Village. If monarchs are your thing, cancel your plans. This one is a full little ecosystem wrapped around your ankle: monarch butterflies mid-flutter, those unmistakable striped caterpillars, milkweed in bloom, and a whole crew of milkweed bugs and beetles crawling through it. Soft green accents at the toe and cuff seal the deal. It’s biology class, reimagined as awesome socks.

Field Guide to Herons. Bird nerds, this is your moment, and we mean that with total love. Great Blue, Little Blue, Green, Yellow-crowned Night, Black-crowned Night. Five herons rendered in that vintage field-guide style, right down to the little labeled names, topped off with a retro striped cuff that looks pulled straight from a well-loved paperback guide. Understated, smart, and quietly the coolest pair in the drawer.

Mushrooms. The fungi lovers already knew this was coming, and it delivers. Morels, chanterelles, boletes, the whole forest floor, tucked between ferns and oak leaves in that classic 1993 Liberty Graphics illustration. Earthy brown toe and heel to ground the whole thing. Whether you actually forage or you just think mushrooms are having a moment, these belong on you.

Classics for a Reason
We love a loud drop as much as anyone, but there's something special about designs that have already stood the test of time. These Liberty Graphics illustrations have been beloved for decades, and there's a reason people keep coming back to them. They're timeless. Getting to reissue that kind of artwork as a MERGE4 sock, built with the comfort and durability we obsess over, is genuinely an honor.
And you still get everything you expect from a MERGE4 pair underneath the art: recycled and plant-based yarns, a seamless toe, arch support, and the kind of all-day comfort that holds up whether you're on a trail, at your desk, or wandering a farmers market pretending you can identify a chanterelle.
Go Get 'Em
The MERGE4 x Liberty Graphics collab is here, and classic collabs like this don't tend to stick around forever. Head to merge4.com, pick your poison (herons, monarchs, or mushrooms, or honestly, all three), and wear a little of the wild world wherever you go.
Big love to the whole Liberty Graphics crew for trusting us with this artwork. This is exactly what we mean when we say Art That Walks™.
