The Surfer Girl Sock Is Here - and It's Riding for B4BC

October is almost here, which means two things around here: the water gets colder, and everything turns pink. This year we're showing up for Breast Cancer Awareness Month with something we're genuinely proud of - the Surfer Girl sock, round three of our collaboration with Boarding for Breast Cancer.

If you don't know B4BC, they've been part of the board sports family for decades. They started in snow and surf culture, and they've stayed there, teaching young people how to catch breast cancer early, pushing the simple truth that staying active is one of the best things you can do for prevention, and standing with survivors long after the pink merchandise disappears from shelves every November. A portion of profits from every pair of Surfer Girl socks goes straight to that work.

The sock itself? She's a surfer girl. She's all of the women in our lives who paddle out anyway - the moms, daughters, friends, the ones fighting, the ones we've lost, the ones who beat it.

But honestly, the sock is just the excuse to say this next part.

Love yourself. Check yourself.

That's it. That's the whole message. Once a month, take a few minutes and check. Get to know what's normal for you, because you're the first person who'll notice when something's not. And if something does feel off, go get it looked at. Don't wait, don't talk yourself out of it, don't be embarrassed. Early is everything with this disease.

Then tell someone you love to do the same. Seriously -  text your mom, your sister, your best friend right now.

So this October, wear the socks if you want. Post them, tag us, tag B4BC, spread it around - every bit of noise helps. But mostly: take care of yourself, keep surfing, keep skating, keep snowboarding, keep moving, and check yourself.

It starts with YOU.
